The Patten Arms

In the early 16th century the Patten family, whom the hotel gets its name from purchased the entire Winnmarleigh estate. The family was noted for their contribution to the development of Warrington and also for their involvement in the Industrial Revolution in the North. For instance they were responsible for making the River Mersey more accessible and for establishing vital transport connections to promote trade within the area.

Through the passage of time the Patten Arms has retained much of the original character and charm of the building and today offers a convivial setting for both business and pleasure.

It is ideally situated for guests travelling by road or rail. It is easily accessible from the M56, M6 and M62. The main line station, Warrington Bank Quay is opposite the hotel (West coast line Scotland to Euston) and it is a mere five-minute walk into Warrington Town Centre.

This makes the hotel an ideal place to stay if travelling by train from Scotland, London, or a number of other locations serviced by this station. The motorway links are also within a short distance of our location. The M6, M62, and M56 are all easily accessible.
